Dear customers, partners, friends,
Breaking news: Our 2025 annual review is being published late.
The reason: too much work. We admitâit could have been worse đ
The encouraging order situation kept us busy, challenged us, and on some days probably drove our coffee consumption to new heights. This made it all the more important for us to pause for a moment and consciously look back.
Because, let’s be honest: in everyday life, a year sometimes rushes by faster than we would like. It is only when we look back that we realize how many exciting projects we have been able to implement together, what challenges we have mastered â and how much we have developed as a team.
And yes, looking back over the last few months, we also realized why the days off between Christmas and New Year’s weren’t just nice, but absolutely necessary đ
The following newsletter is therefore a little more extensive than usual.
We could have shortened it â but then we would have kept thinking:
âOh, that was important too!â So we decided to go for the comprehensive version.
So you can choose at your leisure:
Scroll through quickly and get an overview â or dive deeper and take a closer look at individual projects.
We hope you enjoy reading â and, as always, we look forward to your feedback. By the way, we are always happy to receive praise. Constructive feedback too, of course đ
Warm regards,
Klaus Huber and team
Projects 2025
Olympic Park Munich â running. And running. And running.
Back in 2008, we had the opportunity to equip the event venues in Munich’s Olympic Park with specially optimized practical equipment. For VENTUM-S, this was a really big â and pretty exciting â job at the time. So there was definitely a bit of stage fright involved.
Over the years, additions have been made time and again. Among other things, mobile camera and lighting towers were created â built from components of our standard stage construction kit, so to speak, the system concept at its best.
At the end of the year, we worked with Mr. Hölzl in an intensive process to explore the possibilities for expanding and supplementing the existing platform systems. And the best part is that the material delivered back in 2008 is still in full use â and it looks like it will continue to be so for the next 30 years: without restrictions, without problems. After all, quality should be durable. We will be completing the current order by the end of February 2026.
A big thank you to Mr. Hölzl, who not only made the project possible with his ideas and approaches, but also drove it forward with great commitment.
This is how projects are created that last. đ
Théùtre du Chùtelet Paris
Ms. Lucia Goj, technical director at the Théùtre Champs Elysees in Paris, purchased four units from us immediately after the launch of the then brand-new Mecanum stage trolley. The production currently running at the time was then impressively staged using all four Mecanum trolleys.
After moving to the Théùtre du Chùtelet, Ms. Goj also established five of our Mecanum carts here in 2024 and 2025.
We would like to thank Ms. Goj for her trust in our Mecanum carts and in VENTUM-S.
Theater LiberiÂ
In mid-2025, Lars Ahrend (owner) and Henning Dahlhaus (stage manager) came to us â well prepared and with a clear mission.
After an intensive round of questions and discussions, it was already clear: the VENTUM-S stage system would become the new standard at Theater Liberi.
The system’s strengths are particularly impressive in traveling theater operations. Low storage and transport volume, low weight, high durability, and fast setup and dismantling times â exactly what you need when the stage changes location regularly.
And then there are the â let’s call them â âLego-likeâ application possibilities: ever-changing configurations, maximum flexibility, creative freedom. For a touring theater (and many others), this is currently the best that can be achieved.
Many thanks to Lars and Henning, who approached the matter with courage and optimism.
We have agreed with the two of them that, after the first (hopefully positive đ) experiences with the system, we will publish a practical report with pictures in the form of a newsletter.
In the meantime, we have already received pictures of the first stage set built with the modular system, which we don’t want to keep from you.
Staatsschauspiel Dresden
At the DTHG regional meeting in Chemnitz, I had agreed to give a workshop on our modular system, our turntables, and the Mecanum stage trucks. My slot? Pretty far back in the day’s programâwhere either the big insight comes… or the big coffee craving.
Things were already getting exciting beforehand: every single presentation revolved around the topic of sustainability. As I listened to the contributions of my fellow speakers, it dawned on me: wait a minute â we fit 100% into this topic!
You can find out why that was the case here:
The workshop was great, and I had the impression that even some of those who had been âfamiliar with our modular system from the sidelines, so to speakâ for years were still somewhat surprised by the possibilities and strengths of the modular system.
Peter Keune, TD of the Staatsschauspiel in Dresden, also took part in the workshop at the time. His interest was piqued, so he sent employees to our workshops from time to time so that they could gain a deeper insight into the system and the possibilities of our stage wagons.
At the same time, we also held a specially designed workshop at the Schauspielhaus’s rehearsal stage center.
The stage managers’ assessment was clearly positive, and so the first Mecanum stage trolley was purchased in 2022. In 2024, the first (still manageable) batch of stage construction kit material and a second Mecanum trolley were ordered.
The VENTUM-S material that was then available was obviously used extensively for âpractice,â and the resulting practical experience led to a significantly larger order for stage material in 2025.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to Mr. Keune for his systematic approach, which enabled a decision to be made based on the acceptance of the stage staff involved. That’s always how we like it best. Those who ultimately work with it on stage should be at least convinced, or better yet, enthusiastic about their work equipment.
We have now received pictures of the first stage set built with the modular system, which we would like to share with you.

Theater VorpommernÂ
We have a long tradition with Theater Vorpommern â and we really mean tradition. Back in the 1980s, during the GDR era, the theater in Stralsund was equipped with our modular theater construction system. At that time, it was still the âheavy metal editionâ made of steel.
And what can we say? Quality lasts. Thanks to its foldability and impressive stability, the system is still in use there today. The only catch: steel is not lightweight â at least not if you want to move it regularly.
When Mr. Christoph Schaaf took up his position as technical director in 2019, he seized the opportunity and brought a breath of fresh air to the stage: The tried-and-tested steel practicables were gradually supplemented or replaced by modern, significantly lighter aluminum components: same stability, less muscle ache.
The construction of an interim grandstand provided the perfect opportunity. Its components not only do a great job in the auditorium, but can also be used flexibly on stage for temporary stage set constructions â in the spirit of a clever modular system.
The following photos impressively demonstrate how versatile our system is in the Vorpommern Theater Association.
We would like to express our special thanks to Mr. Schaaf for his openness to well-thought-out stage system solutions, his professional foresight, and the extremely pleasant cooperation over the past years.
Theater Erfurt â System mit System
This story also begins in 2022, much like the one about the Dresden State Theater.
Christian Stark, Technical Director at the Erfurt Theater, ordered two Mecanum carts from us at that time. A year later, the first stage construction kit elements followed. You could say: test first, then expand. A principle we really like.
The experience seems to have been convincing â because in 2025, not only was another Mecanum trolley purchased, but a larger order was also placed to supplement the VENTUM-S modular system. If the system works, it can grow.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to Mr. Stark for the consistent and stringent implementation of the modular system principle in his theater â and, of course, for his trust in us and our products.
In other words: this is what makes collaboration really fun đ
StĂ€dtische BĂŒhnen Frankfurt â wennâs lĂ€uft, dann richtig
It all began in April 2021 with a single Mecanum stage wagon at StĂ€dtische BĂŒhnen Frankfurt. First, they wanted to test it out carefully, as it might just look good. So, it was thoroughly tested, played with, moved around, and probably pushed a little bit.
The result? Convincing.
Because by October 2021, two more Mecanums had been added â reinforcement was needed.
In 2022 and 2023, the system was diligently optimized: external antennas, cable sets for master-slave operation, and cable sets for separating the axes â in short: high-level fine-tuning.
And because you can never get enough of good ideas, the expansion continued in 2025:
Two VENTUM-S Mecanum stage wagons were added in January, followed by two more in October. The result: Eight vehicles in the fleet.
We would like to give our special thanks to Mr. Deggert, who is so convinced of the benefits of our Mecanum wagons that he has continuously expanded the stock over the years.
We say: trust is good â eight are better đ
StĂ€ndetheater Prag â BĂŒhne frei in der Goldenen Stadt
Several years ago, through our distribution partner Media Tech, we had the opportunity to hold a workshop at the Estates Theater in Prague. And yes, a workshop in such a traditional venue always has a very special flair.
Interest was correspondingly high. Subsequently, in 2021, we were able to deliver the first Mecanum stage trolley to Prague.
What happened immediately upon delivery is a little story in itself, by the way:
As is so often the case, it didn’t stop at a single unit â some time later, the order was increased to two stage trolleys, as the customer was obviously satisfied with the product.
This was followed by another workshop in 2005. At this point, the decision to use our stage system was already a foregone conclusion â the workshop was basically there to finalize the planned move. And, of course, to answer the very practical question: Which parts are needed and in what quantities?
A big thank you to Media Tech for making this collaboration possible, as well as to the technical director of the StÀndetheater, who was willing to take a close look at our modular system and its possibilities.
We say: Trust is good â eight pieces are better đ
Finnische Nationaloper Helsinki
We have a long-standing, cordial working relationship with the Finnish National Opera â and fond memories of fantastic workshops on site.
Both the opera house and Helsinki City Theater are now equipped with our modular system. The material is stored in a shared pool that can be accessed by various institutions â completely relaxed, but perfectly organized. Thanks to barcode identification and the appropriate software, you always know exactly which part is currently in use and when it will be âblockedâ somewhere in the near future. In short: no searching, no guesswork, no items that disappear as if by magic. đ
The City Theater introduced our Mecanums back in 2022 â and we are delighted that the Opera followed suit in 2025. With two Mecanums of its own, it has now also taken the plunge. Welcome to the sideways driving club!
A big thank you to everyone involved for the warm cooperation, the trust, and last but not least, for the fun we had together during the on-site workshops. This is what makes collaboration really enjoyable!
MECANUM on Ice
It was fortunate that HOLIDAY ON ICE was performing in Dresden shortly before Christmas. In addition to the anticipation of the actual show, the whole thing had the added appeal that the structures skating on the ice were moved by our stage trucks.
Of course, we at VENTUM-S paid special attention to the stage constructions powered by our Mecanum trolleys, and here too, everything worked perfectly. The trolleys integrated seamlessly into the overall event.
prolight+sound â take care, it was great to see you!
Prolight+sound is now history for us and our industry. And yes, it feels a bit like the end of a really good series, where you hope there will be another season.
For us, it was always a great trade fair â especially because of the wonderfully international audience. A bit like traveling the world in Frankfurt, only without the hassle of packing suitcases.
Showtech can’t quite replace that yet â but we’re keeping our fingers crossed that it will gradually grow into this international role. As we all know, the potential is there!
A huge thank you to everyone who visited us in Frankfurt â as always, it was a blast!
And, of course, a big thank you to the organizing team, especially Ms. Prager, who always looked after us competently, patiently, and with admirable calm (we really appreciate that đ).

Interview with Peter Perkovac, Technical Director at Theater Ulm
The VENTUM-S modular system has been in intensive use at Theater Ulm since 2014 and has been used to create some remarkable stage designs.
In our interview, Peter Perkovac, Technical Director at Theater Ulm, talks about his experiences with our modular stage construction system.
Custom flight cases for valuable equipment
In response to popular demand, we have developed cases that fit our rotary drives and accessories perfectly. This makes transporting and storing your rotary drives much easier. Everything stays clean and protected. The cases can be stacked compactly on top of each other and rolled.
