Dear customers, partners, and friends,
we would like to present a project that we implemented for the summer theater at Moritzburg Castle for the Landesbühnen Sachsen theater company.
This is a grandstand system with a step height of 166 mm and approx. 300 seats, divided into two blocks.
The components are only used there for a few weeks of the year. The rest of the time, the individual parts are used on stage, at outdoor venues, or on tour, and are therefore used intensively.
Isn’t the Ventum-S modular system actually a stage system? Does it make sense to use it to build grandstands?
VENTUM-S grandstands are lightweight, quick to assemble, space-saving to store, and more visually appealing than solutions based on scaffolding materials, for example.
All the parts that that are used to build a VENTUM-S grandstand can also be used on stage as basic system material.
Are there any additional advantages?
Yes, there are, and in many cases they are so significant that the decision to choose a Ventum-S grandstand is an easy one.
Our grandstands are constructed from parts of the modular system, which, in addition to being used as grandstands, can also be used on stage for stage sets or stage platforms.
These characteristics are particularly advantageous when a grandstand is required, for example, at a replacement venue during the renovation of the main building, or when the grandstand is only used for a few weeks or months throughout the year.
In the first case, all the material can be used on stage after the grandstand has been removed and the building renovated, and in the second case, the grandstand material is also available for other uses between the respective periods of use of the grandstand.
This subsequent or interim use saves money and resources, contributes to sustainability, and makes your life on stage easier.
What is the difference between these grandstands and those made of plug-in foot platforms?
The big difference is that grandstands built from plug-in foot platforms consist of individual platforms, which have very limited reuse options on stage and are therefore normally not used there at all or only to a very limited extent. However, this is precisely where the VENTUM-S modular system plays to its strengths.
What is the difference between these grandstands and those made from scaffolding materials?
Ventum-S grandstands are visually much more “refined” than the rather “rough” scaffolding variants.
The restrictions on reuse mentioned in the previous point apply even more strongly here, which is why such grandstands are usually only rented and not purchased permanently. In terms of capacity, scaffolding grandstands usually start where we stop, i.e., at around 400 people.
How can I optimize a VENTUM-S grandstand for subsequent use?
That depends on the available financial resources. If these are very limited, we will plan the most cost-effective option for your grandstand application. You will receive a perfect product that you will enjoy for many years to come.
If your financial scope is a little wider, it is possible to design a grandstand in such a way that the system components used result in an optimized mix of parts for later reuse or complement the existing portfolio in a meaningful way. Here, we mix the system components with a view to maximum diversity so that they offer the greatest possible variability in reuse (similar to Lego).
Where can I see such a grandstand?
You can find VENTUM-S temporary grandstands in Darmstadt, Augsburg, Würzburg, Chemnitz, and Nordhausen, for example.
We would be happy to organize a viewing for you. It is highly likely that a technical exchange with the responsible parties on site can also take place on this day.
