Prolight and Sound 2022 is history.
Whether and how Prolight will take place in 2023 will certainly depend on the impressions and success of this year’s fair.
This year, we found it very difficult to make a decision for or against participation in the trade fair.
On the one hand, we naturally wanted to revive the contacts that we had only been able to maintain by phone, mail, Zoom, etc. in the last two years, in person, face to face.
But we were not at all sure whether other exhibitors and visitors would see this in the same way in sufficient numbers.
In the evening before the start of the fair, while we were setting up our stand, our fears seemed to come true. At least in Hall 12.0, where our booth was located, extra wide walkways between the booths and (compared to previous years) a much smaller number of exhibitors characterized the picture.
I admit I was worried I had made the right decision.
When the gates opened at 10:00 a.m. on the first day of the fair, and visitors came to us with specific questions and concerns, first sporadically, then increasingly, and finally in a veritable wave, I was relieved. If it stayed that way, we would have done everything right. And it stayed that way. Got even better on the 2nd day of the fair and remained at a high level on the 3rd day as well.
We received similar feedback from some other exhibitors and there were only few contrary voices.
For VENTUM-S the fair was a success!
We had nice, interesting and effective conversations with long-time customers and new interested persons. Even the most perfect Zoom conference cannot replace personal contacts in the long run.
What will happen next with Prolight?
We don’t know. Based on our positive experience this year, we assume that the trade show will take place again next year. We hope that more exhibitors will then be able to bring themselves to participate in the trade fair and that we will again have as many sympathetic contacts as we had this year.
